MPA BIO-REGIONAL
MEETINGS
SAVE THE DATES!

California’s Marine Protected Area (MPA) process is moving forward, with three upcoming Bio-Regional public meetings where MPA petitions will be discussed and public testimony will be heard. These meetings are where decisions begin to take shape — and community input matters!

Meeting dates:

• April 21st — Half Moon Bay (Northern MPA petitions)

• May 5–6th — Santa Barbara (Central MPA petitions)

• May 19th — San Clemente (Southern MPA petitions)

We encourage everyone to read the petitions, SIGN, and attend if you can. If you plan to be there, come prepared to give testimony.

Submit your letters to fgc@fgc.ca.gov

This is one of the most powerful ways you can help, by submitting written letters in opposition to the proposed MPAs. By sharing your stories and highlighting the importance of maintaining access to our coast, we can build a collective opposition to harmful policies.

A good place to start your letter is with 'My name is XXXX XXXXXX, I'm from XXXXXXXXX, and I am speaking to oppose/express concerns/etc with (whatever Petition, MPA, Closure of our Coast, etc), specifically for (your geographic area which is being affected) the proposals for new (or expanded) state marine reserves in XXXXXX...' Be sure to include personal anecdotes and stories of what the ocean means to you, your family, and friends!

Submit your letter to this email address fgc@fgc.ca.gov or visit https://fgc.ca.gov/Contact
